In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the technicalleaderon alldatamanagement aspects forproject(s) includingstart-up,maintenance,andcompletionactivities and developData Management Plans and QualityManagement(QM)Plansthat willdeliveraccurate,timely,consistent,andquality clinical

  • Coordinate the development and testing of data management systems edit I datavalidation checks) diagnostics) and speciallistings I procedures usedas toolsforthedata reviewanddiscrepancymanagement activities.

  • Reviewdata acquisition conventions anddata reviewguidelines I diagnosticspecifications consistent with the clinicaldata model,[statistical] analysis plans, and CRF (eCRF) completion

  • Serve asthe projectand clientliaisonincludingmanagement andprovisionofprojectspecificdata managementstatus, cycle time, andproductivity metrics.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identify andimplementsolutions to project data managementissuesand concerns,includingproactivepreventionstrategies based on metrics and+ Coordinate andparticipate in thedevelopment oftheclinicaldata modeland/ordatabasedesignandannotatetheCRF (eCFR) accordingto thesespecifications I monitoringconventions, Interactand collaborate with otherprojectand specialtyteammembers (clinical,programming, statistics, CDMtechnicalsupport,drug safety,etc.) tosupporttheset-up,maintenance, andclosureofthedata managementaspectsoftheprojecttoensure consistent, cohesive data handlingand quality.

  • Advanced planning and risk management for projects(issueescalation, resource management).

  • Assist with goal creation and performancereviewassessment fordatareview project staff.

  • Ensureproject staff aretrainedand adheretoproject-specific, global, standardizeddatamanagement processes. Support achievement of project revenue and operatingmarginfor data management activitiestoagreedtarget

  • Identifyareas forprocessand efficiencyimprovementandimplementsolutions on assigned projects.

  • Maintaintechnicaldatamanagementcompetencies via pa1ticipationininternal and external training seminars.

  • Overseethe technicalperformance ofthe data reviewprojectstaff on achieving client satisfaction through delivery ofquality data,on-time and on-budget.

  • Developand maintain strategic clientrelationshipsandreceiveclientsatisfactionsurveysandimplementappropriate action plans as

  • Supportbusinessdevelopment fordata managementtime and cost estimates andprepareand presenttopotentialclientson globaldatamanagement capabilities.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Review literature and research technologies/procedures for improving global data management practices.

What we’re looking for

Lead Data Managers are the most successful at Covance with:

  • 5+ years of Clinical Data Management experience and at least 1 year of leading studies in a CRO setting. Combination of CRO/Pharma is acceptable.

  • Bachelor’s degree; additional relevant work experience considered in lieu of degree.

  • Full Experience including study start up, initiation, close out etc.

  • Demonstrated skill for technical management of studies with 5+ staff.

  • Experience with Database Build; eCRF creation; UAT experience.

  • Demonstrated mentoring/delegation, communication and interpersonal skills

  • University/collegedegree(lifescience,pharmacyorrelatedsubjectpreferred),or certification in a relatedalliedhealthprofession from an appropriately accredited institution (e.g., nursingcertification,medicalor laboratory technology).

Minimum Required:

  • Minimumfive (5)yearsrelevant workexperiencein data managementwithapproximatelyone(1)yeartechnicalsupervisoryexperiencetoinclude datamanagement,clinicaloperations,andknowledgeof severaltherapeuticareas.

  • Demonstratedskillfortechnicalmanagementof staffexceeding5employees.

  • Financialmanagementof grossrevenuesinexcessof$250Kper year

  • Excellentoraland writtencommunication andpresentationskills.

  • In depthknowledge of clinicaltrialprocess and datamanagement,clinicaloperations,biometrics,qualitymanagement,andsystemsapplications tosupportoperations

  • Workingknowledgeof therelationshipand regulatoryobligationof theCROindustry withpharmaceutical I biotechnological companies
