Covance Logistics/Manufacturing Coord in Morrisville, North Carolina
Covance is seeking a Logistics/Manufacturing Coordinator to ensure uninterrupted supply of incoming and outgoing materials to support IVD product development. This position will focus mainly on raw materials availability for the day to day business operation as well as the storage, preparation, and shipment of all finished products and transportation requirements for the on-time delivery of finished products to customers.
The Logistics/Manufacturing Coordinator is expected to manage resources for each project to include purchase, distribution, and allocation of materials needed during kit production. This individual will also participate in activities to effectively manage production inventory as well as assembling, qualifying, storing, and arranging for the shipment of kits and/or materials to clients.
Manufacturing of kits and preparation of final packaging of LDT/IVD products and PM activities for shipment to clients and/or Field Service Technicians
Coordinating and expediting the flow of materials and assemblies between departments, according to production and shipping schedules or department priorities
Determining material requirements by reviewing production schedules and related information
Monitoring, controlling, and ordering incoming and outgoing supplies and shipments
Executing on kit builds and shipment of supplies to clients according to established production schedules
Examining incoming material to verify conformance to specifications
Monitoring of inventory utilizing the Oracle ERP and ensuring that minimum inventory is maintained by communicating the need for reorder with appropriate parties
Performing monthly inventory counts and updating inventory in PeopleSoft and Oracle systems
Creating and maintaining kit batch records
Picking and shipping products to clients utilizing the Oracle ERP and FedEx Manager systems
Assisting in the resolution of supply order problems
Ensuring the maintenance of the Kit Logistics/warehouse area in a neat and organized manner to facilitate inventorying and transferring of supplies to and from other areas, including the finished goods and quarantine rooms
Reporting of monthly and quarterly Logistics reports
Participating in continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s Degree
In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) experience is highly desired in a heavily regulated FDA and/or ISO 13485 environment
Production, inventory and/or supply chain experience in North America is required; global experience beneficial
Knowledge of supply chain management, production, inventory management, and manufacturing in a regulated environment utilizing batch records, or logistics in a similar environment is required
Experience with programs such as PeopleSoft, Oracle ERP, Microsoft Office and Outlook, as well as FedEx Computer shipping software and hardware systems
Ability to manage processes with high quality and master new techniques in an accelerated manner
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure to organize work and meet scheduled deadlines
