The Project Planner of Consumer Research ideally has a background in Market Research and Consumer Insights combined with highly developed Project Management skills.

Our expertise is putting our Clients in touch with consumer feedback through consumer product testing services.

The Consumer Market Research Project Planner is responsible for creating and designing the execution plan for consumer research testing; including an estimation of cost, timing, and resource allocation, and creating deliverable deadlines to deliver project profitability. Across projects, this role will also accumulate knowledge and insights to improve efficiency of projects through the execution pipeline.

  1. The specific accountabilities assigned to this position are numerous and varied but three areas are of particular focus:Creating designs that maximize project execution success and profitability by making good assumptions and identifying key constraints to best deliver projects that meet client objectives, timing, and budget constraints, recognizing potential risks to successful project completion, recommending mitigating measures both in advance of potential issues as well as in the moment when unforeseen issues arise

  2. Project execution planning, advising, and monitoring including timeline creation and tracking of deadline achievement by all parties internally for all types of projects (front-end through in-market performance, qualitative and/or quantitative), answering project execution questions in a timely manner, and making execution recommendations which help maintain client budgetary constraints

  3. Identification and selection and management of appropriate vendors for project execution services (such as remote fielding agencies, among others) based on key project requirements, and budgets.

  4. Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives within the project cycle to improve profitability; working with all execution departments to gain input into test execution approaches.

Education/Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in consumer research methodologies such as Marketing Research, Consumer Insights and Project Management disciplines.

  • Advanced degree in relevant field is strongly preferred

  • A background in Market Research/Consumer Insights is critical to success.

Experience

Required:

  • 4 to 10 years related experience and/or training.

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office - Excel

  • Ability to quickly analyze situations to separate out the key details and constraints in order to make good assumptions and decisions in a timely manner

  • Ability to support and explain reasoning for decisions

  • Understands business implications of decisions and displays orientation to profitability

  • Ability to take disparate ideas/approaches from different parties and find common ground/midline approaches that all can work with

  • Ability to provide clear and proficient communication with internal colleagues, external vendors, and clients.

  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams to ensure the clients research goals, budgets and scheduling parameters are adhered to as outlined in the RFP

  • Manage competing priorities effectively

Pluses:

  • Supplier-side experience

  • Advanced use of project management software

  • Certification in Project Management (CPM)
