THE JOB

Due to the expansion of Covance´s Clinical Development Services Business, we are looking for our next Sr. Client Services Manager/ Proposals Manager to lead CDS Proposals and Budgeting processes (including full service and insourcing ph I-IV trials).

This is a Europe-wide opportunity: you can be based at any EU country where Covance is a legal entity, and this can be either home or office based.

Acting as Covance´s highest-level consultant/expert POC, we will trust you to support business growth leading strategic and /or complex opportunities autonomously, advising on all aspects of proposals and budgeting.

You will lead a highly talented European team (between 1 to 3 members), ensuring their alignment with the requirements of Covance´s proposal & pricing processes. As their leader, you will:

  • Oversee the proposals and budgeting processes, ensuring timely delivery of assigned projects to clients in line with process quality standards

  • Review and seek internal expertise, monitor capacities, establish priority setting and team allocation.

  • Perform Line Management for your team, including: performance appraisal, merit increase and career development decisions.

  • Identify and drive team improvement opportunities, applying analytical tools to process issues, and taking ownership for team process improvement

  • Devise training and coaching plans to less experienced staff on interpretation of a RFP/quote/protocol

We will trust you to lead client-facing & senior management-facing activities surrounding assigned opportunities.

This is a rich role, where you will have the opportunity to collaborate with Operations, Finance, Account Executives to compile proposal response and to lead integration activities with other Covance Client Service teams.

REQUIREMENTS

This role is essential for us: you will make a difference in team development and process improvement. This is why we are looking for someone bringing extensive direct experience in CRO/biopharmaceutical environment, ideally involved with budgeting and proposal development for Ph I-IV services in Full service and Flexible/Insourcing Solutions.

In lieu of the above Client Service Management experience, for this role we will consider applications from Covance/Chiltern employees with a strong Leadership & international Line Management background, including demonstrated experience with performance evaluation and development, Site Council, HR & personnel issues.

Bachelor’s Degree in a life science, business, finance or similar field.

Excellent customer service skills: you will be responsible for the maintenance and continued development of client relationships for all team members, troubleshooting issues around client inquiry requirements and Covance capabilities
