Covance Food Solutions is looking to add a Quality Control Specialist II to their growing team in Madison, WI. Relocation package provided.

With more than 70 years of experience in nutritional testing, Covance plays a leading role in the design of testing programs required to meet regulatory nutrition facts labeling requirements, regulatory mandates and scientific standards. Covance provides our clients with expertise in Nutritional Analysis, Microbiology Testing and Product Development.

In this role, you will participate in the development and implementation of quality programs for Covance Food Solutions business globally. You will also be expected to:

  • Coordinate with multiple locations, units, and/or cost centers

  • Ensure CFR Part 11 Compliance

  • Conduct internal audits

  • Determine SOP applicability

  • Peer review SOPs and other controlled documents

  • Identify and participate in process improvement initiatives

  • Evaluate responses to inspection reports

  • Participate in external audits

  • Participate SOP release meetings

  • Develops and implements SOPs

  • Develops and coordinates initiatives to advance quality

Food Quality Specialists are the most successful at Covance with...

  • Bachelor’s degree - experience may be substituted for education

  • Knowledge and expertise in 21CFRs Part 110/111 and/or 210/211, ISO 17025 or ISO 9001

  • Experience with FDA nutrition facts labeling regulations

  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage a workload for large and complex projects

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail

  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint

  • Strong aptitude and proficiency in LIMS, spreadsheets and word processing software


  • 3-4 years in laboratory operations and/or laboratory quality control/assurance

  • Successful development and completion of self-directed projects
