This position will manage people and projects. Duties will include the following:

  • Manage method development team and projects.

  • Work with R&D and Innovation leadership on project scope and priorities.

  • Develop project plans and collaborate on setting and delivering timelines and project deliverables.

  • Communicate project requirements, expectations, and outcomes to team members and stakeholders.

  • Manage changes in project scope and priorities.

  • Proactively identify and resolve potential issues and conflicts.

  • Monitor progress and status of assigned tasks and, if necessary, develop actions to bring assigned tasks back on schedule.

  • Provide regular updates on all method development and optimization projects to various stakeholders. Develop and maintain visualization tools (dashboards) for detailing the current status of the projects and highlighting changes.

  • Gather information from various stakeholders to build business cases for new method development.

  • Coordinate pricing of new methods with Commercial, Marketing, Finance, R&D and Operations teams.

  • Work with Finance and Operations teams to assess and implement resource allocation changes as a result of new or optimized methods.

  • Coordinate set-up and changes of methods in LIMS.

  • Manage the method review and update process to ensure timely review of new methods, periodic reviews and inclusion of method modifications.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Commercial teams on the commercial part of the method launch process by providing all necessary inputs in a timely fashion and coordinating Commercial team training on new methods.

  • Manage the method change control process for new methods and method changes to ensure consistency of the change control assessment and client communication in collaboration with Quality and Marketing/Commercial teams.

  • Support compliance of ISO/IEC 17025:2005.

  • Assists with performance evaluations, staffing decisions and other supervisory activities.

  • Maintains client contacts and establishes new contacts for specific service or market segments.

  • Works with clients to design method development projects, method validations and testing programs that will meet client requirements.

  • Prepares protocols, reports, and other documents associated with CFS.

  • Interprets and implements policies affecting staff, fiscal and technical management for the department.

  • Discusses study problems or scope changes with appropriate personnel and suggests solutions and actions to solve problems. Manages the impact on time and cost.

  • Works with Human Resources to implement appropriate affirmative action, salary administration, and communication programs within the department.

  • Conducts and hosts client visits to CFS.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Qualifications

What we’re looking for .

  • BS degree with 8-10 years of relevant experience in a food analysis or other scientific lab environment . Experience may be substituted for education.

  • Working knowledge of project management processes, PMP or other certification preferred.

  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.

  • Ability to present to staff at all levels.

  • Ability to work independently and manage people and projects in a virtual environment.

  • Working knowledge of time and cost estimate development.

  • Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).

Experience

  • BS degree plus 8-10 years of experience in a food analysis or other scientific lab environment.

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience or supervising teams.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, ideally in a laboratory testing environment.
