Food Process Engineer - Food Safety Validations
This position based in our Livermore, California facility is focused on the technical engineering side of food safety. Do you know process validation? Manages client relationships for projects at the direction of the project lead or manager.
Represents the single point of control for research studies and projects.
Maintains positive control over timing and scheduling issues related to every aspect and in any phase of the project.
Coordinates project activities.
Consults with the project lead to determine project requirements and to suggest/ guide plans to address project and client needs.
Participates in the preparation of preliminary project cost and duration information to provide internally to client services and externally to clients.
Schedules laboratory requests in cooperation with laboratory manager.
Develops protocols for feasibility studies, equipment validations, and others as required.
Communicates appropriate documents to clients for approval at the direction of the project lead or manager.
Directs project team at project initiation, communicates final protocol or sample analysis outline, and explains performance expectations to project staff
Monitors/ evaluates/ reviews the scientific performance (preliminary results) of the project. Provides client with regular progress updates if appropriate.
Initiates, reviews, and approves (as appropriate) protocol deviations and project communication forms.
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Food Process Engineering, Food Science, or related field
B.S. with 4-6 years, M.S. with 2-5 years, Ph.D. with 1-2 years of experience in the food industry
Knowledge of applicable US FDA, USDA regulatory agency guidlines.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Ability to conduct limited review of related scientific literature, references, and regulatory guidelines to obtain required information and subsequently apply it.
Skilled in data interpretation and report writing.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Team player
