Covance Research Assistant - Genetics and Toxicology in Harrogate, United Kingdom
We are currently recruiting for a Research Assistant to join the R&D, in vitro Tox and Aerosol Methods section within the Genetic Toxicology Department at Covance.
The role will involve assisting in the performance of aerosol exposure Genetic Toxicology assays in compliance with appropriate SOPs, GLPs, and regulatory guidelines.
Duties will include:
Maintaining standard and specialised laboratory equipment, equipment records
General housekeeping duties eg. cleaning, calibrations, reagent prep, waste disposal
Assisting in the production of laboratory work sheets/books
Assisting in the performance of aerosol exposure Genetic Toxicology assays
Accurate recording and checking of study and laboratory raw data
Assisting with development and validation of new assay methods

Education / Qualifications
- Appropriate scientific degree (BSc) or equivalent (relevent experience may be substituted for degree)
Up to 12 months practical lab experience – if new graduate internship/placement experience or lab practical experience during degree course preferable
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
Familiarity with standard spreadsheet and word-processing software applications
Communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge and understanding of GLP and aseptic techniques would be advantageous
Engineering background or knowledge would be advantageous
