This role:

  • Partners with the Global Immunology Leader to ensure scientific excellence, quality, and on time delivery are hallmarks of the department.

  • Develops a strategic plan for business expansion that identifies the areas that the department will concentrate its capital investments to achieve scientific innovation that meets business growth objectives.

  • Supervises and leads the Global Innovation Team, including the Assay/Method Development, Assay/Method Validation and System Validation staff.

  • Consults and collaborates with staff at other Covance sites as a leader of the global I&I team.

  • Is a subject matter expert for I&I and consults with clients on studies placed with the Safety Assessment, Metabolism and Lead Optimization (SAMLO) Department.

  • Manages the portfolio of new Assay/Methods to be developed and validated for the I&I group, including prioritization, resource assignment and timing of new assays/method development and delivery.

  • Tactically assigns resources within the Innovation Team, implements programs, and drives process improvement to assure financial and budget expectations are met.

What we’re looking for in you:

PhD or DMV preferred, or equivalent degree plus 3-5 years of experience or

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 10 -12 years of experience.

  • Drug development experience is required.

  • Experience in regulated GLP/GCP environment is required.

  • Prior I&I or equivalent procedures, method development, and validation experience required. Additional experience with Immunology lab instrumentation for Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Cell Culture, and ELISPOT is preferred.

  • Skilled in performing presentations.

  • Skilled time management, planning and budgeting.

  • Experienced in leading and developing people.

  • Experience leading meetings is required.

Education/Qualifications
