Covance Innovation Lead I&I in Greenfield, Indiana

Job Overview

We currently have an opening for an Innovation Lead to join our Immunotoxicology & Immunology (I&I) team in Greenfield.

This role:

  • Works with the Global Immunology Director to ensure the scientific quality and expertise of the department. • Supervises and oversees the Global Innovation Team, including the Assay/Method Development, Assay/Method Validation and System Validation staff.• Consults and cooperates with analogous staff at other Covance sites as part of the global I&I team. • Consults with clients on studies placed with the Safety Assessment, Metabolism and Lead Optimization (SAMLO) Department. • Consults with Account Executives, Client Service Managers, and Study Directors on studies placed with the Safety Assessment, Metabolism and Lead Optimization (SAMLO) Department. • Manages the portfolio of new Assay/Methods to be developed for the I&I group, including prioritization, resource assignment and timing of new assays/method development and delivery.• Manages the portfolio of new Assay/Methods to be validated for the I&I group, including prioritization, resource assignment and timing of new assays/method validations and delivery.• Manages the portfolio of new systems to be validated for the I&I group, including prioritization, resource assignment and timing of new system validations and delivery.• Executes a strategic plan, in consultation with the Global Immunology Director, which identifies the areas in which the department will concentrate its I&I scientific advancement efforts and capital where applicable to meet business growth objectives. • Tactically assigns resources within the Innovation Team, including method development and validation groups (personnel, space, and equipment), implements programs, and drives process improvement to assure financial and budget expectations are met.

What we’re looking for in you:

PhD or DMV preferred, or equivalent degree plus 3-5 years of experience or Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in related discipline plus 10 -12 years of experience.

  • Drug development experience is required. • Experience in regulated GLP/GCP environment is required. • Prior I&I or equivalent procedures, method development, and validation experience required. • Additional experience with Immunology lab instrumentation for Flow Cytometry, ELISA, Cell Culture, and ELISPOT is preferred. • Skilled in performing presentations. • Skilled time management, planning and budgeting. • Experienced in leading and developing people.• Experience leading meetings is required.

Education/Qualifications
