Job Overview

Covance Market Access Services currently provides health care reimbursement support, access education, and access solutions for pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical clients with its Market Access Field Team. TheField Reimbursement Managerare client-facing and customer-facing staff who leverage their expertise and experience to assist client customers in understanding and addressing access challenges. They conduct presentations to small and large groups in various settings and often work face to face with providers’ office staff -- educating staff on access services and solutions specific to a product and therapeutic area, and consulting on reimbursement matters. These services play an important role in clients’ customer relationships as they facilitate access to important patient therapies.

This position is to serve the Northern Virginia and DC area. Candidate must have medical billing and coding experience and be savvy on the buy & bill reimbursement policies and processes.*

Covance offers the services of the Market Access Field Team in order to help our clients improve access in the dynamic health care environment.The Field Reimbursement Manager must regularly monitor the changes to nationwide and regional coverage and policy, as they serve as the experts in this area. Up to 80 percent travel is required for the position and will often be dedicated to a specific region of the country. Necessary technology is provided in order to perform the duties required. Field Market Access staff must live in close proximity to a major airport.

Education/Qualifications

The Field Reimbursement Manager will hold a Bachelor's degree or evidence of continual work toward a degree strongly preferred. A degree may be required to work on some of our client programs and needs. Candidates will have strong verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, client savvy, knowledge of business protocol, time management and organizational skills. Proven leadership ability. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to “think on his/her feet” and suggest alternatives and solutions. Knowledge of Siebel, Lotus Notes/Architect. Strong organizational skills. Demonstrated analytical skills. Ability to work independently

Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record and be available to drive during the day and night time. Must live within a reasonable driving distance from a major airport

Experience

The Field Reimbursement Manager will have at least 3 years’ relevant experience and strong knowledge base in healthcare policy, reimbursement, market access, pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales or marketing, or similar industry. Experience with research and analysis, relationship-building (with clients and/or customers), and public speaking. Possesses relevant work experience to conduct site visits, audio conferences, and giving presentations. Experience with buy and bill reimbursement is strongly preferred and office coding/billing experience is preferred.
