**Remote Based Role

The RFI (Request for Information) Manager II for ECD and CDS in Princeton, NJ is an integral member of the Enterprise RFI Response Team.

The mission of the Enterprise RFI Response Team is to efficiently manage information requests within the RFI process, provide accurate/validated Covance information and data, and support the global commercial organization to win new business by writing responses that are consistent, compelling and award-winning.

•Writes effective RFI responses through the management of RFI tools, systems and processes (core competency functions) such as Procurement systems/platforms, SFDC, SharePoint, Qvidian, etc. in supporting Client Services and adhering to agreed-upon BU-specific and enterprise-wide client deliverable processes

• Leads RFI responses autonomously

• Bears primary responsibility for writing core BU RFI responses and contributing to integrated RFI responses, with backup responsibility for adjacent BU RFI responses as assigned

• Ensures response team is developing creative solutions for client inquiries

• Responsible for working with response team members (ex: Client Services team, Operations, Finance, Account Executives and others) to compile information/data required for client deliverables

• Identifies and resolves issues around client inquiry requirements and Covance capabilities

• Maintains appropriate knowledge of the technical and regulatory environments

• Responsible for executing or facilitating internal and external opportunity management negotiations (i.e. pricing, process, resources, etc.)

• Anticipates, detects, promotes quality and process improvement needs in the maintenance and continued development of key client relationships

• Maintains/provides backup for BU response library content and templates as assigned, working with Content Managers, Writers and Client Managers

• Contributes to assigned RFI process improvement projects and supports implementation as defined and assigned by management

• Promotes internal expertise through training and guidance to less experienced staff on interpretation of an RFI/quote/protocol

• Performs quality control activities for peers and less experienced staff

Education/Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a scientific, business or related field required

Experience

• Minimum of 6 years direct CRO Drug Development related experience required, clinical development trial experience preferred

• Previous experience responding to RFIs, RFPs and RFQs preferred

• Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact

• Editing / writing / messaging skills, preferably with previous life sciences experience

• Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)

• Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize

• Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills

• Proven ability to work independently

• Knowledge of other software applications (i.e. SFDC, Proposal Automation) preferred

• Ability to work to deadlines

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with clients and Covance senior management

• Positive attitude
