Covance Marketing Manager, APAC in Bangalore, India

Job Overview

Roles and responsibilities:-

The person in this role will be a marketing professional who will manage and execute regional marketing activities that include but are not limited to:

  • Drive regional marketing efforts (consistent with the global strategy) through interactions with sales, medical, operations, customers, and promotional events

  • Partner to conduct comprehensive regional market research and trend analyses on market, competition, and new service offerings specific to the APAC region

  • Provide global positioning for Asia-Pacific for the laboratory businesses as well as clinical including global and local competitors

  • Develop and deliver, through a variety of channels, core differentiating messages and tools specific to regional needs (customizing pieces when necessary to meet local needs)

  • When appropriate partner with commercial efforts on client presentations and bidding opportunities ensuring the messages are strong. Also working with global marketing colleagues for latest data and TA specific information.

  • Become knowledgeable of the industry and internal Covance for future service/product planning, particularly within the region

  • Create specific launch plans as a subset of global company activities, including sales tools, promotions, digital media and special focused marketing efforts for the Asia-Pacific region.

  • Create and manage the local budget as well as manage ROI metrics and dashboard reporting across campaigns, events, symposium etc…

  • Manage approval of all materials produces through the Global Marketing Process

  • Support the achievement of annual sales goals for all BU’s in the region

  • Provide analytical support (not ownership) to the business including, but not limited to:

  • Business/marketing plans

  • Pricing

  • New business ventures and strategic alliances

  • Competitor analysis

  • Client analysis

  • Pipeline/targeting

  • Work closely with a remote team of marketing professionals and develop/execute key marketing tactics to support core strategies. This role is responsible for overseeing development of sales tools in conjunction with Global Marketing, Sales Management, Medical, Operations, and Corporate Communications to be used by the sales force to implement the key positioning and sales strategies in the region.

  • Gather current information on customer needs and key competitors, and use this information within the marketing strategies to differentiate Covance as well as to provide the sales force with key areas of focus to optimize the impact of their selling efforts.

  • Collaborate seamlessly across the Covance BU’s maximizing co-marketing, service integration and educational efforts, as appropriate.

  • Adhere to global marketing review process for all materials created for region.

Education/Qualifications

Minimum Required:

A minimum of a Bachelors preferably in a science related field or marketing. Working knowledge of the clinical trial processes.

Preferred : MBA with focus on marketing and experience working in a global environment

Experience

Minimum Required:

  • 7 + years marketing leadership experience developing and executing plans.

  • The person must be proactive, possess sound business judgment, have excellent people and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines.

  • B2B and life science marketing a plus

  • Must be able to work independently as well as a team player with US counterparts
