Job Overview

Work Location: Bangalore

  • Provide study programme leadership with responsibility for delivering SAS programming services to clients and project teams.

  • Maintaining optimal department processes and implement effective project specific strategies.

  • Work closely with key clients to understand their needs and requirements and communicate this information to the internal programming team.

  • Working with the management team, provide guidance, mentoring and training to SAS Programmer to ensure best working practices are maintained.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Manage and build strategic relationships with clients, ensuring the development of internal processes and standards are aligned with client expectations.

  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of senior programmers assigned to their studies, ensuring all study deliverables and outputs and associated documents are completed in a timely manner and to the required specification.

  • Co-ordinate, direct and oversee the SAS Programming activities on Study Programmes for key clients.

  • Perform QC on all aspects of SAS Programming work to ensure that data quality, integrity and consistency are maintained for both standalone projects and Study Programmes.

  • Feedback constructively on relevant study or process issues in a timely manner, initiating review and follow-up as appropriate.

  • Input and involvement in bid defence and other client meetings as required, including production and delivery of presentations when necessary.

  • Involvement in client or internal audits, preparing relevant responses as required as well as support for other programmers.

  • Have input into writing and reviewing SOPs and associated documents.

  • To carry out all activities in accordance with Covance Standard Operating Processes (SOPs) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

  • Support and advise Senior Management of significant problems promptly

  • Provide support to SAS Programming Manager(s), flagging up study, resource, training concerns, or other feedback in a timely and pro-active manner.

  • Provide advice and support for Commercial Service personnel regarding Time & Cost Estimates, as required

  • Build and maintain good SAS Programming relationships across functional units

  • Support the Director, SAS Programming from a programme management perspective as required

  • Undertake studies as Lead Programmer as assigned through scheduling

Education/Qualifications

Education :

Graduate or Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences (or Pharma or related health discipline) from an accredited university or college.

Experience

Experience:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures

  • Good overall knowledge of the clinical trial process and GCP including international regulatory requirements for the conduct of clinical development programs

  • Appreciation of the business requirements of a contract research organization
