Job Overview

As GLSS Administrator Data Base GLSS Administrator position requires interaction with all four global laboratories, IT, global customer service, and Global Medical and Technical affairs. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining all Global Data Bases.

  • General Duties and responsibility

  • Secondary principal contact with GLSS Management, Lab internal External Lab

  • Responsible for policies, procedures, trainings and maintenance required for global database.

  • Provide back up to the GLSS Administrator A as well as GLSS Coordinator

  • Based on business need, may be assigned tasks at level above (GLSS Senior Administrator/Specialist)

  • Monitor and report performance metrics and take corrective actions when appropriate.

  • Provide guidance and training to new database administrators.

  • Individual is responsible for maintaining his/her complete up-to-date training file. Individual is responsible for ensuring he/she is trained and training is documented prior to performing a task. Individual is accountable for any deficiencies found in his/her training file.

  • Participate in team tasks related to planning, budgeting and cross CCLS management team issues

  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, quality and productivity

  • Provide a monthly report to the Manager.

  • Other duties as assigned GLSS Data Bases Duties and responsibility

  • Demonstrates proficiency/expertise in assigned database discipline

  • Once proficient in assigned database, individuals will be expected to learn additional data Bases across divisions with in GLSS

  • Support the GLSS Administrators , global laboratories and remote sites to troubleshoot and solve database related problem

  • Design, build, maintain, troubleshoot global database definitions and modify appropriately

  • Responsible for Data entry of information in appropriate Data Base

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining test codes, result codes, cancellation codes, comment codes, units, conversion factors, analysis table, reference ranges, calculation, reflex and any assigned tab in appropriate Data Bases

  • Determine database requirements by interacting with the global laboratories and other departments.

  • Follow SDP process including the creation of the system validation documentation if necessary.

  • Direct database implementations as assigned for the functions of calculations, reflexes, PeopleSoft, or Antrim.

  • Insure all billable events occur as quoted or defined by the Statement of Work through the database design.

  • Demonstrate superior troubleshooting as documented through competency testing.
